ABOUT KAI

Hello, I’m Kai!

Welcome to Kai’s Real Japan!

I’m Kai, a Japanese guy who loves exploring places, taking photos, learning languages, and discovering the little things that make everyday life interesting.

I created this website to share Japan with people around the world—not just the famous landmarks and traditional culture, but also the ordinary moments that make Japan feel special.

A quiet street. A small neighborhood café. A beautiful view you might almost walk past. Or a Japanese expression that makes you wonder, “Why do people say it that way?”

Sometimes, the smallest discoveries tell the best stories.

Japan Feels a Little Closer

Japan is much more than Tokyo’s bright lights, cherry blossoms, temples, and sushi.

Of course, I love those things too!

But there’s another side of Japan that I want to share: the everyday Japan that people live in, experience, and sometimes take for granted.

Through my photographs, observations, and personal perspectives, I hope to help you discover something new.

You don’t have to be in Japan to feel a little closer to it.

A Little More About Me

I enjoy photography, traveling, exploring nature, and visiting places with a unique atmosphere.

I especially love beautiful landscapes, seasonal flowers, traditional streets, temples, shrines, and places where you can experience a quieter side of Japan.

I’m also interested in languages.

As someone who enjoys learning other languages, I understand how exciting—and sometimes confusing—it can be to discover a different way of communicating.

That’s one reason I want to make Japanese language and culture feel more approachable.

And yes, I like a little humor along the way!

Learning about another country should be interesting, useful, and fun.

Kai’s Journal

Not everything I want to write fits neatly into a travel guide or Japanese lesson.

Sometimes I simply want to share a thought, an experience, or a personal reflection.

That’s what Kai’s Journal is for.

If you’d like to get to know the person behind this website a little better, you’re welcome to explore my journal.
